Beautiful Vistas

When Bud and I went to St. George last weekend, he was excited to hunt down some petroglyphs. He called a guy in Ivins who worked at City Hall and was told to come in and get a map. We did. He also gave us verbal directions. We were confident we would be successful finding this really old graffiti. We drove to the right place. Of this I have no doubt.
We went to the edge of the cliff as per our directions. Oh, look what we found! But that's not old graffiti, it's just an old recliner.
Here's the scene from right next to the recliner. Cheryl, don't look!
Obviously we couldn't get down from that direction. We tried going another way.
Bud is scouting it out, but these thorny trees made it impossible, or impassable.
Pretty view (I guess this is why the recliner was right next to this spot).
We had to give it up. No petroglyphs for us. Oh, wait...let's try going this way!
Watch out for prickly stuff.
No, we can't get there from here either. That doesn't look like much of a drop, but trust me, it is!
Look VERY closely, right between the two rocks at the top of this photo. See Bud in his blue shirt? Yep, that's how steep it was. He counted his steps. He said it was like climbing 6 sets of stairs.
On our way home, I had to stop for this shot. Okay, the old graffiti was a bust, but this view was worth the outing! It almost looks fake, doesn't it?
