here to learn how to do it right. Basically, it says to place six eggs in a pot with two quarts of cold water and a tablespoon of salt. Bring to a simmer over high heat. Remove the pot from the heat and put a lid on the pot. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for ten minutes, then remove the eggs to an ice bath for five minutes. This keeps that gray ring from forming around the yolk.
