Swift Sweet Treat

I melted some chocolate for another purpose, and there were leftovers. What to do? Let it cool and harden back into a solid mass? Or whip up a fast treat? Fast treat it is!
I started with a few pretzels, and cut up some caramel that needed to be used up.
Here's that leftover chocolate. Leftovers never tasted so good.
I topped them off with another pretzel and called it good.
Very good.
Fast, easy, and a whole lot less fuss than dipping pretzel rods. Jenny, we could have a problem here.

C is for Yum!

I had a couple of people on my "list" so I made some cookies to brighten their day. Remember how I just cleaned out my craft closet? In the closet were these boxes from when my hubby bought out a defunct dental office about two years ago. At that time, the boxes didn't say yum, or cookies, they had the dental address and "what does your smile say about you" on the box. But I thought they'd be a great container for giving away cookies, so I changed it up.
For a couple of months, I've been wanting to try Snickerdoodles with a twist.
I added some cinnamon chips which I bought from this place, along with eighty-something dollars worth of who knows what! Do you see that little burst of cinnamon happiness right there?
And here you have a whole box full of happiness. Warm happiness, in fact.
Tuck it in and ship it out.
I have more boxes in my craft closet. If you see one on your porch at anytime in the future, you'll know who ditched it at your door.

One Short

I bought these awhile ago.
They are coasters. They came four to a package and I bought two packages. What will I do when next month there is one child not represented? And if I bought another package so that child could be represented, what would I do with the extra three coasters that wouldn't have a picture to go with them? I'm thinking that my kids need to come up with three more grandkids for me so I can round out the set. Come on kids, you can do this!

I was going to tell you the only groundhog day joke I know, but I thought it was a little too irreverent for me to post. Just go watch Groundhog Day. You'll laugh plenty doing that. Can you believe that movie is 18 years old? I still love it though.

Organizational Conundrum

What do you do with your loose recipes? I'm trying to decide how to organize these treasures. Any ideas?

Reflections

Sunday was an emotional day for me, for several reasons. At the end of the day, I read one of my favorite blogs (I've been trying to limit my computer time on Sunday, but this was good for me to read), 320 Sycamore. She posted this quote from President Harold B. Lee. A few more tears came when I read this, and I found myself missing my little babies. They're all grown now, but I can still recall when they were so little and so cute.

Isn't she just the cutest thing in the world? Yes, sometimes I really miss my "little" kids, but I'm also happy with who they are as adults. If you have little ones in your house, cherish your time with them. I promise, you'll wonder where the time went when it's gone, and you might wish for them back.
