The Parade

Agnes was the cutest one at the parade. Everyone gave her attention, including those IN the parade riding by. Here's how cute she was...

Brrr Baby

We briefly unwrapped Eliot to take a picture of him in his Independence Day outfit...

but promptly wrapped him up again because, yes, it was this cold!

Is this July or January?

Happy Independence Day

We made some fun things with Agnes for July 4th. She had a great time!
This is the star that goes on her parade stick (stay out of the way when she waves it!)

She's putting beans in a balloon to make a bomb bursting in air. Unfortunately I'm having uploading issues with my video so you won't get to see her with the finished bomb in action. Karen mentioned she was also having video uploading issues. Is it a Mac thing?

Now is that a fancy headband or what?

Too cute.

The Bucket List - One Less

When Laura and Nick were away for a bit on Saturday night, I was outside with Agnes while Eliot was snoozing. It was getting into the evening and we were walking from one side of the house to the other side of the house. Something caught my eye which totally surprised me. A brief yellow glow which came as quickly as it went. I looked towards that glow and saw it again. Then another and another. I realized that it was the glow of a firefly.
You're probably thinking "so what?" It was a happy moment for me because I'd never seen  one and to be truthful, I wasn't sure they weren't just the figment of the imagination of a fictitious novelist. So for me, it was checking another item off my bucket list because I'd always wanted to see one- or some. Now I have! Such happiness.

Please forgive the camera shake. I had a "helper."

Irresistible Ice Cream and Stuff

I think I've sinned. All I'm saying is that something that tastes this good has got to be bad. But really, it's not my fault. Laura and Nick had this stuff in their freezer and it was all downhill from there ("the daughter thou gavest me, ... and I did eat"). It says "irresistible" on the side of the container and they ain't a kiddin'!
It has these chunks slabs of chocolate that even frozen are still creamy and chewable (unlike a chocolate chip which when frozen can break your tooth) and totally delicious. That's just the beginning. It's packed with coconut and almonds (yes, I like almonds, no, I don't like walnuts. If it had walnuts, we wouldn't even be having this conversation and I wouldn't be getting fat, regardless of the chunks slabs) and it is divine. Laura says it's only available for a limited time. That's because if this stuff was around all the time, the people in Columbus would be as large as a bus. I know I would be. As it is, this is the last week of production until next year. I gave Nick $20 to stock up. He came home with 2 measly pints. He said they were out of half-gallons (I can understand why). I guess my thighs are grateful, but my mouth says why didn't he buy 4 pints?

The other day we went shopping. We had so much fun! Agnes is modeling an outfit (along with about four hairbands). Most of the other outfits are getting washed because we went through so many clothing changes due to a lack of promptness in getting to the potty. We were too busy shopping.

Even Dorothy would be jealous of these babies!

Eliot isn't really falling off the couch. There's a huge ottoman in front of the couch. This guy knows how to chill out. He's such a good baby!

It looks like Eliot is singing and leading the music. He's ready for the Independence Day Parade.

Agnes says "cheese" instead of just smiling. It's getting harder to get a good picture of her because of that. And to go with it, she squints her eyes and ends up looking like this...
I think Goldilocks probably looked something like this.

Brotherly Love

Agnes loves her brother. In fact, she loves him nearly to death! She hasn't quite grasped the concept of "soft" yet. Soft hugs, soft kisses...nope. It's full blast or not at all pretty much. If Eliot survives the next three months of Agnes' love, he'll have it made.

It's just that he's so little and cute and she can't help it but to want to show him how much she loves him.

I'm not sure if this pacifier is going in or coming out. I'm thinking it's coming out.

This was taken at the park the other night. That's why he has the flying nun thing going on with his head (you're all probably too young to remember the flying nun- with Sally Field and Alejandro Rey. Why can I remember that guy's name and can't remember where I put my toothbrush from this morning?)

Isn't he adorable?

P.S. It isn't a good idea to spend all day shopping when one is potty-training. Just in case you were wondering about that.
P.S.S. Happy Anniversary Samuel and Holly. Eight fabulous years!
