Mystery Bag

You DO know I'm in the drug capitol of the world today, right?
I thought this was appropriate while I'm in Cartegena, Columbia. A mysterious bag of white powder was lurking in my pantry before I left. I had no idea what it was.
But then I found this cut-out cardboard for sugar cookie directions and felt pretty safe it was the last package from a large box bought from Costco and I no longer wanted to keep the large box for one package of mix. But wouldn't it be a cool story if I'd posted this after I returned and I told you it was a souvenir?

Sisters Serving

I never posted these because they're just not very good pictures, but we really had a good time.

We were packaging hygiene kits for emergency relief victims.
If you need a service opportunity, call your local Deseret Industries (for those of you who have a local D.I.) and ask what you can do. They'll put you to work.

Just In Case

In case we never return from our vacation, I thought I'd share with you what would have been our Christmas card photo for this year.
I'm sure we'll be fine, right? Right? Maybe I won't get off the ship from the time we embark in Miami until we disembark in Los Angeles, but even L.A. can be pretty scary at times too. Well, you'll at least have our picture to help you remember us.
I won't say how long we'll be away because I don't want all the robbers and bad guys who read this blog on a regular basis to break into my house while I'm away. Hey, bad guys and robbers? I've got my spies watching the house, so don't even bother!

Which Would You Choose?

In thinking about my neighbor gifts for Christmas, I went to a paper store in SLC called Xpedx. I bought these cellophane bags to put the caramel popcorn in to make it pretty.
Turns out, you can't even see the decorations on the bag, due to the color of the popcorn.
I realized that I tied the wrong ribbon on these buckets. So that had to be fixed! But then I wondered if my neighbors would rather have these instead.
I'll have to figure that out later. I've decided that I'm a chocolate pretzel snob now. If it doesn't have caramel under the chocolate, it's not worth eating. I'm such a brat.
Here's the right bows on the buckets. Pretty? This is what I'm giving to my R.S. presidency. If they look at my blog in the next 60 minutes, they'll spoil the surprise. I'll just have to chance it.
So which would you choose, popcorn or pretzel?

Too Busy

Can't blog today for two reasons- no camera cord at work (didn't we have this problem once before? Why isn't it rectified?) and I'm too busy reading my new candy making book. I actually have three new candy making books, but I'm still relishing the first one to move to the second and/or third.
Therefore, excuse me while I continue reading...

Mia Says Cheese

Mia loves cameras. She loves to see pictures of herself. She'll sit in her daddy's lap for a long time, holding his phone or iPod, scrolling through the pictures, looking for the "baby."
When she sees you with the camera, she smiles a big grin and says "cheeeeeese!"
Then she wants to see the picture.
No, she doesn't want me to pick her up (although she's not opposed to that), she's reaching for the camera.
Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!
I've posted a video, but I don't think it's going to work. It's an MVI file, and I don't think it's supported on Blogger. We'll take a chance with it. Anyway, if it doesn't work, it was a movie clip of Mia smiling for the camera, and then running around to the other side of the camera, grabbing it so she could see herself. Such a cute girl.
