The Happiest Place on Earth

Last week I went to the Happiest Place on Earth, and then we went to Disneyland. Translation- I went to see my grand daughters in California, and then they took me to see some of their favorite characters. They have an annual pass, so they've spent a bit of time here. They knew all the best things to do and see. The bonus was that it was decorated for Halloween.

Nora

Sara

Mia

A giant Mickey pumpkin

Our favorite thing to do was to get autographs from as many characters as possible. Here's Pluto trying to see what he is writing.

Such cuteness!!!

Halloween Mickey

Nora is into posing a lot these days. Good thing she does it well!

When I was young, my uncle would give a nickel to the first person to spot the Matterhorn on the drive to Disneyland.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle with my beauties sitting nearby.

They have this teacup for picture taking purposes. My kind of cup because it doesn't spin!

This is the best Wicked Queen I've ever seen. No wonder Snow White was terrified!

Hello, Captain Hook!

The Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
She has hearts on her bloomers, but I'm not going to show that to you.

Here's Jafar from Aladdin. He was kind of creepy looking.

Mia wouldn't get near him. I don't blame her.

Even this was taken with apprehension. Only Mommy could make it safe enough for her.

Prince Charming

Miss White

On our way to Mia's favorite ride. We only went on three rides while we were there.

I took this for Caleb. He likes Woody.

Aladdin

Nora was wanting to go to Tom Sawyer's Island the whole time. However, we never got there. And, it evidently has a new name now. Something like Pirate's Island.

Cute Mickey Mouse pumpkins. Not a cute price though. They were almost $10!

Cute Minnie and Mickey apples. Same not cute price.

This is Nora just after she learned we wouldn't have time to go to Pirate's Island. She was very disappointed.

This is Nora after being bribed by her Nana with a Simba stuffed animal so she would stop pouting about Pirate's Island. Sara and Mia got in on the deal as well.

T-I-double guh-ER.

Eeyore is my favorite. Love him!

Mia LOVED Pooh! Loved, loved, loved.

Haunted House was especially haunting. We didn't go in.

Total happiness- Mickey and Minnie dancing the day away.

And last but not least, Mr. Donald.

We had a fast fun four hours. We had to get back home for Sara and Nora to go to their dance class.

I wish we could have stayed a little longer, but then, I wish my whole trip to California could have been a little longer too.

Temporarily On Hold

I just wanted to let you know that I will be on a break from posting for about two weeks. If I had been prepared, I would have scheduled that many posts in advance to keep you all amused until I get back, but I didn't do that, sorry. I'm off to AZ today, and then to St. George tomorrow to watch a little of this kind of stuff.

Ready...

set...

GO!...

swim...

win.
At least we hope he will win. But since he again has a sore back (lifting and moving stuff without help is not good for keeping your back healthy, I've been told) and a sore shoulder (don't know why on that one), it may put a damper on his speed this year.
When he's done with that, I hope to swing by So. Cal. to visit a few little girls that I adore. I really hope that works out, but I don't know yet for sure. I'll be back by the 17th, and in the meantime, Karen will keep the homefires burning...if it ever cools off enough around here to even have a homefire burning.
Ciao!

Vertical Salad

A couple days ago, Karen showed me a salad that she wanted to eat. I made a couple of mistakes, but she still said it was great.
For instance, when we sat down to eat it, I said "shouldn't this have some cheese on it?" Sure enough, it should have. And the red peppers? Yeah, they were supposed to be tomatoes. So we added them later. But look at all this deliciousness!
Then Karen said "Stop making it pretty and just let me eat it!" So I stopped, and she ate.
She's looking forward to putting the leftovers together for another salad for lunch today between CONFERENCE SESSIONS!!! Woohoo! We love us some Conference around these here parts!!! This is my favorite weekend of the year!
